That building was on the Ward property at the corner of Jones Walk at the Boardwalk. It was demolished when the Boardwalk was moved inland in 1941. Here's an aerial view: Hope this helps.

Howard Johnson’s Coney Island
Hi.. I grew up in Coney Island during the late forties? Fifties and Sixties. I have memories of my Dad n his brothers “owning” the Feltman’s food concession
on Surf Ave.. After Feltman’s they owned the Howard Johnson’s food concession on the corner of Surf Ave n Stillwell Ave. In the late 50s my Dad went out on his own and opened Shaws on the Boardwalk which I believe is now Ruby’s. I have amazing memories of those days but would love to find some pictures of Feldman’s and Howard Johnson’s from that time period, as the Howard Johnson’s pic on line does not match my memory.
