Henderson's Building, looking southwest from Surf Avenue near Henderson's Walk.

In the early 1920's several streets in Coney Island were cut-through or widened to provide access to the newly constructed Boardwalk and expanded beach, necessitating the demolition of many buildings. The Henderson's building was effectively cut in half with its western half demolished to make way for an enlarged Stillwell Avenue. The eastern half, shown in this photo, has survived into the present.
