My wife and I were part of the crowd that Betty O'Boyle speaks about. In fact that's where we met and had our first date which consisted of walking from Ocean Tide to the parachute jump. Betty's brother John and I were in the same class in grammer school (holy name) and we, along with a group of about 12 other guys hung out together, It wasn't just park slop kids, i.e. there were kids from Bay Ridge, Ft. Hamilton Pkwy (IHM), but essentially the majority of us were Irish Catholics. It was the best years of our lives, thought we didn't know it at the time. Whenever I get back to Brooklyn, I got to Nathans, and walk the Boardwalk where Ocean Tide used to be and the days of my youth wash over me, and for a moment I'm that freckled faced, skinny kid again
