In 2002 the Parachute Jump was disassembled for a thorough structural rehabilitation and repainting. Sections of the Jump were placed in the parking lot of Keyspan Park for sand blasting, painting and member replacement. This photograph is of the top-most portion of the central tower awaiting rehabilitation. The cylindical portion of this section is where the 12 tower arms are attached. The yellow platform (referred to as "PP7" in tower plans) is the narrowest part of the tower and can be seen in photo [SK.Photo.PJ.01].
