Sid and Lynn recall moving in 1955 from the Lower East Side of Manhattan down to 33rd St. in Coney Island where their family had always spent their summers. Sid says he felt as a child like he owned Coney Island and as they grew up, the Finkelsteins were true Coney insiders. They hung out on the boardwalk in the wintertime and during hurricanes. They worked at local businesses and rode for free at all the amusements operated by their friends. Today Sid lives with his wife in Florida, but visits Coney Island with Lynn when they come to visit her in Brooklyn.

Sid and Lynn---don't recall the names but you brought me down memory lane. My friend Bill Mahoney and I would have breakfast every morning ín the summer at Hy and Arties. (I can still taste those egg sandwichs). I was a delivery boy for Walters laundromat on Mermaid between 33rd and 34th streets. Also was a delivery boy for Feldmans the only supermarket in Coney Island that I knew of. Hey did you ever have a hero sandwich at Mary's. Wow, reaching in that cold water for a pepsie---The best. Her store was on the corner of Surf and 35th. I could go on all day----by the way my name is Jerry, lived on 32nd and railroad in the back of a candy store my mother owned. Then moved to 33rd between Mermaid and Surf, then moved into Seagate (4810 Surf). Larry from Larry and Vinnys pizza was a friend of mine..Hey, heaven was a square pizza and Italian ice for 25 cents...Bye
