Sea Gate resident Boris Ioselev is Managing Librarian at the Brooklyn Public Library's Coney Island Branch on Mermaid Avenue.  Ioselev and his family emigrated from St. Petersburg in January 1989 to join his brother, who had moved here in the 1970s. With the help of HIAS, he found a job at the library in September 1989 and has worked at various branches, including Sunset Park and Gravesend, ever since. In St. Petersburg he not only worked in the book trade, but also organized art and photography exhibits, which he continues to enjoy doing at the library.
