Phil Einhorn

Born in 1928, Phil enthusiastically searches his memory for every last detail available to him about growing up in Coney Island. He remembers the Railroad Avenue Trolley "four rides for a dime," pool halls, two murders, black-out curtains during World War II, the fact that every family was required to have a bucket of sand and a shovel during the war, that, at 35 cents, Steeplechase was too expensive to afford until he was an adult, unlike Luna Park, for which one could get discount coupons in The Mirror, and many other details he is anxious to impart.

Phil Einhorn passed away in 2022.
