Louis Beard

Arcade game repairman

Louis Beard grew up in Brooklyn and visited Coney Island with friends as a teenager in the 1980's. He joined the Army right out of high school and worked in immigration where he learned that new citizens had more questions about Coney Island than any other part of New York City. After leaving the Army, Louis worked for a time on Wall Street but made the unlikely switch to maintaining arcade games. He loves his job despite its long hours and even comes to Coney Island on his days off to hang out on the boardwalk, play video games, and ride The Cyclone.
