Judith Densky's family moved to Coney Island in 1947, just after World War 2, when apartments were hard to come by. Luckily, her Uncle Bill happened to own property on West 31st Street. After living in the house on West 31st Street until she was 7-1/2, the family bought a home in Sea Gate. Densky shares memories of PS 188, Mark Twain, and Lincoln High School, and growing up in Coney Island when Steeplechase Park was still open. "I'm glad that Coney Island still exists, because it was always a special place for me," she says. "It was a nice place to grow up."
