We’re deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Lois Colin, Astroland’s former Director of Group Meetings and Sales, who left us on Friday, March 6, after a long illness.

Lois brought boundless creativity and joy to everything she did. We have fond memories of Circus Day, her dazzling creation that transformed West 10th Street into a kaleidoscope of acrobats, aerialists, and daredevil motorcyclists. She also dreamed up Twins and Multiples Day, an unforgettable celebration that drew hundreds of twins, triplets, other multiples, and their families from across the region.

A twin herself, Lois had a special fondness for that event, particularly the Boardwalk talent competition. “The little ones just take your heart away,” she once told the Daily News. That warmth, that spark of delight, captured exactly who she was. She adored the unusual and unique characters she met in the course of her career at Astroland, and often remarked that her work was never boring.

Known for her tireless energy, quick wit, and generous spirit, Lois made Astroland brighter. Her laughter and dedication live on in our memories and in the joy she created for so many.
