One of Coney Island's three main amusement parks, Dreamland, established in 1904, was considered more "refined, orderly and symmetrical" than Luna Park and Steeplchase Park. Bankruptcy forced the owners to auction off the park in 1910 before a fire completely destroyed the park in 1911.
